In 2004, Creating " MARRAKECH BIO "
In 2004, we created a processing plant located 15 km away from Marrakech in order to obtain the highest degree of safety in the olive harvesting and curing processes. This plant processes only 100% organic products.
Mr Jamili, an engineer specialised in organic products and who has been working exclusively with us for 25 years, has been appointed to supervise the plant. He is responsible for coordinating the various steps of the production process : growing, harvesting, processing and shipping to our premises in Le Pontet, in Provence.
We have a production capacity of 450 tons of olives; a production distributed over 2 olive groves which have been producing certified organic olives for 25 years. The organic growing process is assessed by ECOCERT, a French organic certification body.
We have set a 8000 trees planting program in 2006-2007 in order to increase our production capacity. It will increase first from 450 tons to 600 tons, and then to 1000 tons of organic olives in 6 to 10 years time.
This expansion program will enable us to master the various steps of the production process, from olive growing to the customer’s table, and therefore will help us secure our leading position in the organic canned olive market.
